Kforce is Hiring a Government Accountant Near Arlington, VA
- Government accountants create budgets for different government branches, departments, and agencies; They analyze financial data, track spending, and prepare reports on taxes, expenditures, and overall finances
- These professionals work closely with government officials to develop budgets, monitor financial trends, and ensure tax compliance; They provide insights on financial matters affecting their respective branches of government
- Government accountants conduct financial audits of government agencies and departments; During audits, they review financial records, assess income and spending, and document assets
- Using tax software and other tools, government accountants keep meticulous records; These records are essential for audits, financial reports, and compliance purposes
- Leveraging their knowledge of tax codes and financial policies, government accountants advise government officials on best practices for managing assets, spending, and investments
- Proficient knowledge/experience with Deltek Costpoint (they are on version 8.1)
- Strong Bank reconciliation and account reconciliation experience, complex and across multiple entities
- Strong month end close experience
- Strong GL experience and government accounting experience (FAR, etc.)
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
